We have just returned from cruising up and down the West Australian Coast over the last 7 months on our 32 foot Ketch Charade. We anchored on beautiful beaches, caught fresh fish off the boat, watched the sunset over the ocean night after night and live self sufficiently and fulfilled our Dreams.
In pursuing our dream to go cruising we have learnt a lot along the way. There are many things we wished we had know before hand that would have made our journey easier.
That is why we put together ‘ Get Cruising’ to share a lot of the things to help make your cruising dreams come true.

Our sailing experience runs beyond the last year of cruising. Sebastian has over 25,000 nautical miles and has sailed across the Pacific Ocean, Worked on Sailing Yachts in the Mediterranean, and Cruised the West Australian Coast extensively.
Jamie has a decade of sailing experience, including working on sailing charter boats in the Kimberley, Yacht deliveries, Sea Rescue Volunteering and Cruising the West Australian Coast. With Jamie’s Coxswains Ticket and Sebastian’s Offshore Yachtmaster, Jamie and Base have a great combination of both the theory and practical aspects of cruising.
How the Course Works:
A Sailing weekend – Leave Friday and sail to a local anchorage. Spend Sat sailing and learning practical techniques, anchor at a new spot and get a day of sailing in on Sunday to Fremantle.
We will cover essential topics to get to you cruising. We will have resources both printed and online to assist you and even budgeting worksheets.
Cost for the course is $595 per person.
